omniscient reader's viewpoint (orv) is a korean webnovel written by Sing Shong. it is 551 chapters long and there is a webtoon adaptation (which i have mixed feelings about but its still pretty awesome), as well as there being a film due to release in 2025, and an anime adaptation announced!!!
the premsis for orv is a fairly standard isekai trope: kim dokja is the sole* reader of the webnovel "Three Ways To Survive in a Ruined World" [there are varied translations of this title]. the final chapter of the novel releases- chapter 3149 (kim dokja has problems)- the author only known as tls123 contacts kim dokja to announce that from now on the novel will be a paid service. pretty soon after this, the apocalypse starts. sad! however, turns out that webnovel that kim dokja has been reading since he was 15 (he's now in his late 20s) is the basis for the apocalypse, so he has a good understanding of what's going on!!
