The Story of the Blues [Part One] - Pete Wylie & The Mighty WAH!
My September - 네스티요나 [Nastyona]
Taking a Chance on Love - Moacyr Marques i don't remember how or when i first heard Moacyr Marque's aptly titled album Jazz and Bossa Nova but its had such a positive impact on my life. if i'm feeling a bit miserable i just, throw on some of this and like 9 times out of 10 i feel better. its groovy and laid-back, and just really enjoyable. i should listen to more bossa nova!!!
Up the Wolves - The Mountain Goats
Swinging Sondheim Medley: The Worst Pies in London / Stay with Me / Being Alive / In Buddy's Eyes (Live) - Chip Zien
Sirius - The Alan Parsons Project so i've loved the album Old and Wise for a while now, its probably one of my favourites, with Sirius being the opening song. and i also got really into the TV show Severance this month. therefore, imagine my reaction when [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS, MAJOR PLOT MOMENT] happens in Severance's season 2 finale and then Sirius starts playing i was genuinely gobsmacked i had to pause it and message people because i was so excited by it and i then couldn't get to sleep for like an hour after i finished the episode which yes i loved the rest of it but ohhhh my god they put song i like in show i like it's maybe the highlight of this whole month for me
Under the Gaze - MAGNOLIA
Wake Robin - The Orchestra (For Now)
Sirius - The Alan Parsons Project
The question - Richard Dawson quite honestly this only features because of the sheer amount of times i keep hearing "wheeeereee are you goingg" inside my head. i mean no i do like this song although my favourite track is probably Knot or Polytunnel, the whole album is good and reminded me of my love for Richard Dawson's music. one of my key memories from pre-pandemic 2020 is listening to Jogging from his album 2020 (which, side note, absolutely nuts that that DIDN'T release in 2020. it was 2019. its crazy) while my dad told me that it was, ok to have anxiety ?? or he was just playing me the song to make me feel better about being anxious maybe???? anyway yes. i like the dotted rhythms that start around half way through the song they're good
Married Life - Michael Giacchino i was rewatching drew gooden's video about Lost (the show) and he was talking about Michael Giacchino and specifically this piece so i put it on and then i. put it on loop. its so so beautifully composed the motif repeated throughout and the changing instrumentation its so goooood i haven't even seen Up in years probably but i love this as a piece of music so much. i could do a full analysis on it but i don't especially have the time :( still nontheless its good music
The Hills of Tomorrow - Stephen Sondheim
